Bernard Sitati

Founder & General Manager

Bernard founded Green Hedge Commodities with a clear conviction: that Kenya's agricultural richness (avocados, macadamia, specialty coffee, fine herbs) deserved a more direct, reliable, and relationship-driven route to international markets.

With deep roots in Kenya's agribusiness sector and a network spanning farmer cooperatives, certification bodies, and freight partners, Bernard built GHC to be the exporter he had long wished existed: one that prioritises quality, transparency, and long-term buyer relationships over volume at any cost.

Company Founded

Green Hedge Commodities Limited incorporated in Nairobi, Kenya, with an initial focus on avocado exports to European buyers.

2022

Farmer Network Established

Formal sourcing partnerships with smallholder cooperatives in Murang'a, Meru, and Nyeri counties, covering over 500 registered growers.

2023

Product Range Expanded

Macadamia and specialty coffee added to the export portfolio, with first shipments to the Middle East and Asia Pacific markets.

2024

Certification Programme

GlobalGAP, KEPHIS, and HACCP certifications secured across key product lines, opening doors to premium retail supply chains in Europe.

2025 –

Scaling for Growth
